The New York City Triathlon
The super bowl of rock n roll (as far as I'm concerned)
Swim down the Hudson
(Yes it is safe)
Bike up the west side highway
(No I do not to pay as I go through the toll booths)
Run down 72nd street
(While cops stop traffic for you).
Finish the run in Central park
This is my favorite race.
I also consider it to be the dress rehearsal. The shake out the bugs test for all other races
Try out new things and see if they work or not.
Try out new things and see if they work or not.
You are not supposed to do anything different on race day, so this is a "see how the piece all fit together test" for me

But why here if this race is so important to me?
Because it is the race where I feel most comfortable. I know every inch of this race course.
Because it is the race where I feel most comfortable. I know every inch of this race course.
I have less to worry about and more to focus on.
So what happened?
18 minutes on the swim
18 minutes on the swim
(Same as last year)
1 hour 40 on the bike
(A minute slower than last year)
1 hour 18 minutes on the run
(7 minutes slower)
So what happened?
Heat, Nutrition, Injuries
So what happened?
Heat, Nutrition, Injuries
Heat: Slows everyone down
Nutrition: Not enough fruits and veggies in my diet
Injuries: Kept me from training the way I was used to.
Future? Four weeks to the next race. Let's see if I can turn this all around.
